45°30.671N ; 006°40.015E ; 7005 ft Few places in Europe are closer to Heaven... and that is also how you feel at Aime 2000 ! It is one of 10 ski resorts which constitute the ski domain of La Plagne. Aime 2000 is the highest, the most original and probably the most convenient resort for hyper-active skiers, surfers, paragliders and other mountain activity lovers. La Plagne is at the heart of the Tarentaise Valley, where 1990 Winter Olympics took place. The Valley also hosts Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens (belonging to the famous Three-Valleys), Les Arcs, Tignes and Val d'Isère (its renowned Espace Jean-Claude Killy). Many facilities enable disabled persons easy
parking and access to all parts of the vicinity. |

It is mostly freeways leading to the Haute Tarentaise Valley. Only the last 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Aime to Aime 2000 are climbing and winding, with occasional need for wheel chains because of slippery conditions. By train, direct TGV take you in less than 4 hours from Paris to Aime.
Convenient buses drive you up to La Plagne.
A ropeway (dubbed TéléMétro by derision for the Parisians) add another 5
minutes transportation to the inside of Aime 2000. |
